Inter-Community gathering of the Women’s Group
On 13th August 2021, owing to the support of the Federation of Jewish Communities in Serbia, another Inter-Community gathering of the Women’s Group was organized in a truly exceptional location.
Fifty participants from the Jewish communities Belgrade, Pančevo, Novi Sad and Zrenjanin attended the event. To everyone’s joy, rabbi Isak Asiel also joined the gathering.

Milan Gočmanac – a tour guide from the „Meet the Serbia“ society, prepared a few authentic events: a visit to the castle Kastel in Ečka, a boat ride on the beautiful nature reserve Stari Begej – Carska bara, a tour to the ethno village Tiganjica, and finally, the lunch at the famous restaurant Trofej.

During the visit to the famous Kaštel in Ečka, we learned that on 29th August 1820, a then nine-year-old Franz Liszt, played at the grand opening of the castle.
A special delight for participants was prepared in the nature reserve Stari Begej – Carska bara. The river Stari Begej, its untouched nature, deciduous forests from fairy tales, and about 150 different species of birds, made that ambience unique. The boat ride was amazing and we were lucky to see cormorants, gray and white herons.

After visiting the nature reserve, we went to the ethno village Tiganjica, which consists of several units connected with a huge garden, a horse stable and a mini zoo.
The lunch was served in the restaurant Trofej, where participants enjoyed local specialties. At the end – apple pie for dessert, traditionally eaten with fingers as the locals explained, because it tastes sweeter that way. Musicians played, as we drank coffee in the garden a continued hanging out with old friends.

Thank you for the lovely experience and for making this Inter-Community gathering of the Women’s Group even more special. We will do our best to offer you more high quality events in equally beautiful and authentic ambience.
